Responsibilities

The IT Asset Manager plays a crucial role in overseeing and managing the entire lifecycle of IT assets, including hardware, software, and third-party vendors. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in ITIL practices and ServiceNow platform experience to ensure effective and efficient asset management processes.

 

 

MAJOR DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

 

  • IT Asset Lifecycle Management:
    • Develop and implement strategies for the procurement, deployment, utilization, and retirement of IT assets.
    • Monitor and optimize asset usage to ensure cost-effectiveness and alignment with organizational goals.
    • Conduct regular audits to maintain accurate and up-to-date asset records.
  • Software Asset Management:
    • Track software licenses, ensuring compliance with licensing agreements.
    • Coordinate with relevant stakeholders to assess software needs and make recommendations for procurement or retirement.
  • Hardware Asset Management:
    • Maintain an inventory of hardware assets, tracking their deployment, utilization, and decommissioning.
    • Implement best practices for hardware maintenance, upgrades, and replacement.
  • ServiceNow Expertise:
    • Utilize ServiceNow platform for effective IT asset management, configuration management, and incident tracking.
    • Leverage ServiceNow reporting and analytics to provide insights into asset performance and usage.
  • ITIL Practices:
    • Implement ITIL best practices for Service Asset and Configuration Management (SACM).
    • Ensure alignment of asset management processes with ITIL framework.
  • Vendor Management:
    • Manage relationships with third-party vendors, negotiating contracts and ensuring compliance with service level agreements.
    • Evaluate vendor performance and recommend improvements or changes as needed.
  • Purchase Order Management:
    • Manage the creation and tracking of purchase orders using ServiceNow.
    • Perform audit and reconciliation of purchases.

Qualifications

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or related field. 4 additional years of experience will be considered in lieu of degree.
  • 5 years of IT Asset Management with a focus on both software and hardware assets and demonstrated knowledge of technology lifecycle.
  • Previous asset management platform experience; ServiceNow asset management experience strongly preferred.
  • Certification in ITIL Foundation and demonstrated experience implementing ITIL practices.
  • Proficiency in using ServiceNow for IT asset management.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Third-party vendor management experience is a plus.
